I started my first salt water tank back in 1977. I bought my water and fish in San Jose. Corals back then were the bleached dead ones. I'm a reader so I read lots of books by great aquacultureists like Stephen H. Spotte, (Marine aquarium keeping: the science, animals, and art) and Martin A. Moe (The Marine Aquarium Handbook, first edition published in 1982). Even today I read only books by accomplished aquaculturists such as Anthony Calro, Scott W. Michael (Pocket Guide to Marine Fishes) , Julian Srung (Corals: A Quick Reference) and John Tullock (Your First Marine Aquarium (A Complete Pet Owner's Manual) ). The only magazine dedicated to the hobby that's worth reading is Coral Magazine.

Personally I don't listen to advice on the internet. There are too many opinions. We started selling reef systems 12 years ago. From Trial and error we've learned what it takes to be successful. I love to help my customers with their hobby. I'm always available to help. This is one of the most exciting hobbies I've ever encountered and enthusiasm rubs off.
